Majority snorted, the wolves before her were nothing more than sheep. She knew that all creatures had the right to thought and speech, but why couldn’t that also apply to her? Many grow up in different chapters of the world with obstacles to overcome. Majority had a right to her thought on the matter and she had decided to be rash and speak outwards about it. Majority already had a reputation for being impulsive with her words and thoughts (unless you weren’t paying attention at the hunt). It was unnecessary for them to jump down her throat.
Majority was apathetic for the mood in the air. The wolves’ moods were filled with rage and she hoped that with her mood alone could hold up as I don’t give a damn. So much anger was wasted on Majority alone. She hoped that one day others could see past attacking each other and work co-operatively to a successful conclusion. Fortunately for these pack members they had WhiteLightning and they need not have to think for themselves at all.
Majority tilted her head to side to view Frore, another wolf she didn’t know. She didn’t care for his name, and he lacked words. His body movements indicated a fight and a smirk only lifted to her lips. Enemies within a pack ground, how “loyal” of you, idiot.
She cleared her throat and looked back to the centerpiece. They were so beautiful, WhiteLightning and Thyme. The two seemed to fit together like a backdrop out of a movie scene. Thyme is brilliant. She hadn’t only spoken her opinion. She offered to help the pups grow. If anything that took more courage and heart then merely attacking a pack member’s opinion. WhiteLightning had the power of silence to break the voice of any wolf out of turn. He was aggressive in a good-natured way. The crisp background of snow sheltered the two wolves generously.
Oh, and Ocean was just made Omega. Majority’s apathetic look remained, but she didn’t lift her gaze to watch the stupid bitch walk to the back of the crowd. Majority looked back to Shrike and Frore and tilted her head again to the side, another battle, another silent reply. Her tail wagged loosely behind her, she was very pleased with herself even if no one else shared the same feeling.

A howl rung through the air and into the snow den of the fae Aquamarina. She opened her eyes and sprung out of her hiding place. She was ready to reacte to his call. Aqua was careful to desipher its menaing. A gathering was what came to her. After the hunt she had been as happy as she had ever remembered being. The pack became one during the hunt. It was an amazing feeling. Something was in the air. Something different than what normally would be there. To her it was excitment. It was defainalty something important. So, with that she started to trott off to where she heard the Apha Whitelightning's call and recieved it.
When she arrived amoungst the others she bowed her head and said Thank You Alpha She sat down next ot Oceanmist. She seemed different. Then it became apparent in her smell. She was pregnant. Aqua had known that scent all too well. Being the victim of a force breeding she had lost all the pups. She was glad that they had ided in all honest though would never admit it aloud to any others.
Aqua wagged her tail at the parents of six. I wonder how may others there are Aqua had seen the pack and knew its size. It was larger than most. She yawned slighlty before stretching. A quick glance aorund and her attention was once more on Whitelightning. She hoped she had a rank in the Greater North Pack. Though it probaly wasn't likely.

((o.o Uh thanks for waiting for me guys. -reads like crazy- I'm winging this))
Swig rested her gaze on the snowdrift as they awaited the others to arrive. She barely seemed to notice what was going on, not rathering caring for who was arriving at the very moment. She would know when the ones she wanted would arrive. Lost in thoughts she may be, her nose still quivered with each new scent that accended to the place. One could only guess what their alpha wanted to speak about today. No doubt praise for their hunt but what else did she wonder. He wasn't stupid enough to drag them from their warm dens for just a congratulations. Toying with these thoughts, she barely noticed that Hallow had appeared.
"Swig."
Sea blue eyes snapped onto his snowy white frame instantly. For a second she could have sworn it was her older brother from his voice but her ears layed back slightly as she realized it was him. Heh, her mistake. Swig shook her maw slightly, disgutsted with herself that she even thought of that crimson worm. "You fair very well after the hunt? You did a great job during the hunt and I do hope the alpha approves of you. You are a very deserving huntress. I am glad to have you at my side during the hunt. Let's hope to meet up later after the meeting."
She looked at him hard now, raising one brow in a curious jesture. A comment? A smile settled across her muzzle for a moment as she sat up straighter, trying to fit the image of a deserving huntress. Well at least one person saw her as something other then a hot headed wolf which she didn't doubt he had first thought. She dipped her maw slightly in a greeting acknowledging his own braveness when he had run head on towards the mammoth and made that daring leap onto his face.
"As did you Hallow. For a moment I thought I would dragging you body to the side after that suicidal move. As experienced as you probably are, try not to be so rash. I've only met two wolves and I rather not have to find a replacement." She chuckled softly, tilting her maw slightly so that her dazzling eyes sparkled with humor. If this meeting had a serious mood to it, she certainly wasn't feeling it.
Lifting her head slighlty, she tuned in on the alpha's words as he spoke. Her heart soared at that moment and she no longer surpressed the urge to wag her tail in approval to the announcement. She was finally home the artic sighed and let the wind ripple through her coat. Swig sat more proudly then ever before, feeling the power beneath her feet and the unity that had not been there before. She finally had a pack and was a member. No, she shook her head mentally. She had become part of this glorious team, the angels of this frozen north.
"Then again. There are some otherr anouncements to make rregaurding new families. Isn't that right, my old friend? Oceanmist, come forrward." The words were steady. His voice hadn't risen, but they were not friendly.
Swig looked at the wolf who Whitelighting spoke to. Her smile faded and her tail stilled to a silent beat. It wasn't doing her much not knowing anything or anyone else who sat here accept a few who's names had been shouted out during the hunt. Oceanmist was no acception and the artic pressed her ears forward in interest to see exactly why she was being called forward. Only for a moment did she side glance to Spitz as he came to sit with her and the other wolf. She grinned slightly to see another familiar face and nodded briefly to him.
TURRN ARROUND AND ADRRESSS YOUR COMRRADS. TELL THEM WHAT YOU'VE DONE. TELL THEM WHAT YOU ARE!" Ah now she was even more curious about this situation. It had taken her a few minutes to realize that the female was a bit heavier then the rest of them. Only then did she guess what Oceanmist was about to accounce. Her ears instantly flatten at this. So she was pregent with pups...pups that didn't belong to this pack. She had gone of and bedded with the first familiar wolf she had met. Swig didn't growl or look as shocked as some of the others. Instead her eyes locked on the poor female who stood before them, admitting her secret with pride. Would she accept the punishment Whitelighting was surely to put on both her and the pups.
“BANISH THEM.”
Swig glared at Majority as she spoke now, out of turn. Before this, the artic was open to meeting these wolves but now this had locked the door to her friendship. Females cared for the pups. All of them were programed with the motherly instincts yet here this wolf wanted to send these tiny lives into the fridgid cold when the reason of their live was not their fault. It was their mother's, why should they have the same judgement passed on them. Swig rose the fur on her ruff, utterly furious at the wolves who agreed to send such innocent lives to their deaths. It was when Thyme spoke up that her anger queled just slightly. Finally! At least one wolf was thinking straight rather then pouncing on the poor pups. Blue eyes rested on Whitelighting as the artic stared hard at him.
"What gives you the right to decide who lives and dies?" She spoke clear enough to hear, anger flowing from her voice. She did not want to oppose him but this was just plain nonsense. She had made a mistake but enough to murder innoncent lives over? Her fangs bared slightly as she resisted stepping forward. She would silently back up Oceanmist from her spot. If he wanted to kill her, Swig would stop him. She had her reasons.
As he passed his judgement, the young wolf snorted silently. It was cruel what he would do once they were old enough but at least they would be spared a death at the pack's fangs. Swig watched Oceanmist obey and went to sit at the back of the pack. Her eyes didn't drop in shame of her but with admiration that she had restrained herself from retaliating at those dreadful commands. Swig smiled warmly and stood. She didn't care if Whitelighting saw her as trash. This wolf had something in common with her, that was enough. Taking a few steps towards the mother, Swig gave a wag of her tail.
"You are very brave dear. I will never think of you as a traitor." With that she slumped down beside her. Nothing but a warm smile came from her. If she did not want her company, Swig would simply move back. But for now she felt her place was with this mother. Afterall, Swig was a traitor's pup as well, both her and her brother.

(( Whoa. My post got completely ignored. o-o; I thought it’d stir up more reaction than that. ))
After her emotional outburst, Shrike watched the crowd with confusion and dejection in her eyes. Very few had reacted strongly to Majority’s devastating and repulsive remark; and while she had nearly been knocked off her feet from the malevolent ignorance in the blue wolfess’s words, everyone was quietly adoring Thyme. She didn’t understand it; in a moment where Shrike would have bared her teeth at the alpha himself for the defense of the children, her remarks had been stamped into the dirt by Thyme’s simple statement that she would aide in raising the young ones. This unsettled Shrike; how would Thyme know what to do with the emotional pain the pups would experience?
Shrike had suffered through it, but she wondered if Thyme had any idea of how the children would feel, or if she would simply guess at what best would ease their pain. Pain recognized pain; would Thyme understand that at all? Mulling it over, Shrike decided she would speak to Whitelightning privately about raising the children. She wanted to be a part of their lives; she had to! She felt a searing desperation to give them someone to identify with, even if it meant opening her own old scars. She feared that there was no one else gathered here that had been raised quite like she had; a mix of the love of her family and the rejection she’d received from even complete strangers from birth.
Shaking the thoughts from her mind internally, she turned her attention back to the words of the wolves around her. She was being ignored; no one had acknowledged her, cared whether or not she could make a difference. She might as well have been the shadow from a nearby tree for all that they recognized how hard she was trying, for herself and all of them. She dared not look at Whitelightning again, fearing even more that his eyes would pass over her, disregarding her despite any deep emotion she might have or any assets she could offer because wolves like Thyme were suddenly more important, regardless of her own actions.
Well, that was the way the cookie crumbled; or how Shrike’s confidence in herself was now, with her efforts and emotions forgotten in the minds of those who cared nothing for her. For a moment, she felt herself begin to slip back into the depression being part of this unified pack had rescued her from; but she clung on doggedly, fiercely. If that’s the way this was gonna be, she’d grit her teeth and show them just who Shrike could be!
She didn’t need their recognition or silent praise; she’d make something of herself, whether they cared to see it or not. Sitting up, she shifted her weight to her haunches and fixed a deft and indifferent expression on her face, another prime example of how she always swung back from emotional turmoil despite the situation. Casting her chartreuse gaze coolly among the gathered, she pointedly ignored Majority; that one’s ignorance was contemptible. Let it be her downfall if there was any fair dealing in life. She moved her gaze to Whitelightning now, despite her fear of being overlooked or forgotten. If she had to struggle for recognition, so be it.

It was silent, that is untili Oceanmist opened her mouth to speak “What I’m going to tell you, you may not want to hear.” her could hear her voice trembling, a pang of guilt for his friend ran trough him “most of you have already figured it out, I’m guessing, but I’m pregnant. [/i]“I was banished by vile for the summer while I was in season. When I left, it was not to long before I met a wandering wolf. His name was Arey. Arey was a friend of mine from my former pack, and when I left to come to the greater north two years ago, he had been courting me. We talked for hours and hours, and he became my companion for a few days. Before I knew it, he had begun to court me again. And, well, I didn’t try and stop him. He is a nice guy, strong, smart, maybe a little short, but who cares? He was great father material.” [/i]
Sean nodded as he listened to her words, she seemed sincere but by the looks of the expressions on Whitelightining's face it wouldn't be good enough. A sudden outburst caused him to turn his head “BANISH THEM.” His ears pinned back as anger began ot return. He bit his tounge as Majority yelled out once more “Is this the example we want set for new pups now coming into the family? How will her pups be accepted? WhiteLightning, banish her to the outskirts of The Greater North. Where the sun doesn’t touch and the winter bares no remorse. If she and her pups survive through the winter, they should be allowed access, a trial. She is a member of this pack, but she has betrayed you and the lands by dishonouring herself."[/i]
Sean looked back to Ocean seeing her expression he knew he had to say something about this. Just as he begun to open his mouth Shrike stood up and spoke, she beat him to it. “No.” He looked over to her his expression softening, he would back her up on this. “You -- you should be ashamed of yourself. Banishing cubs to the cruelest corner of the North; unborn children! They have done no wrong, harmed no one. Unwanted and rejected before they’ve drawn their first breath. They don’t deserve that, no one deserves that.” Here her voice almost shattered, but she seemed to gather herself and continue. “Those cubs deserve the undying love that only a family can give, no matter how or why they were conceived. It does not matter if that love comes from their actual mother and father, or from this pack. Refusing the cubs this most simple and important gift is one of the dirtiest, most repulsive and vile things a wolf can dream of for them, a punishment they did not earn! They will not be banished. I will not allow it.”
Sean would have said something but Shirke has basicly just said it all, he nodded his head in agreement. It was that moment he knew his Alpha would have little mercy upon Ocean, he perked his ears toward the conversation before his Alpha began to speak. He heard up to Omega and went numb, his friend, Omega. He could see Ocean's expression become empty, she wasn't there anymore. His friend was gone, at least for now. She stood up and walked trough the pack to get to where she was ment to sit...at the back. Sean made eye contact with her as she approched the first few wolves. He felt shame. This had been her fault, but now the pups she carried.
Sean smiled to Swig slightly as she sat next to Ocean, hopefully she would help her feel better about this ordeal. He looked to Shrike "You are right" she murmmered quietly "Ocean. I saw her banished, I'm only glad she's back safe. I out of no one will help that family" he looked back to his Alpha offering a small smile toward Shrike. She had done the right thing, and even if it didn't make the biggest difference it did to him. All voices in the pack were heard, he listen even if he dissagreed.

“BANISH THEM.”
WHAT?! Unknown's head jerked almost painfully over towards Majority, a cold glint her her light blue eyes. Banish them!? Her blue fur rose slightly as she glowered at the blue-backed female. That was just.... Cold. Banishing little infants and their pathetic mother!? These kids deserved a chance to live. They shouldn't have to pay for Oceanmist's mistakes.
As usual, Unknown held her tongue, but she glared right at Majority. Bristling, it seemed as though the yearling was on the verge of revealing her ivories to the female. “WhiteLightning, banish her to the outskirts of The Greater North. Where the sun doesn’t touch and the winter bares no remorse. If she and her pups survive through the winter, they should be allowed access, a trial. She is a member of this pack, but she has betrayed you and the lands by dishonouring herself.”
It was then when she saw Thyme. Unknown watched the navy female step up and speak. "I concurr that she has made an error. This error is not acceptable, nor to be commended... However, these are lives we speak of." The yearling nodded slightly. Thyme was making some sense here. Unknown listened further, "This mistake does not change that they are precious lives, as worthy to be here as you or I." Again, Unknown nodded.
However, it was Shrike who Unknown looked to next. The dark female spoke, “You -- you should be ashamed of yourself. I will not allow it.” The blue yearling looked to Majority, a bit of a smug expression. Amen. She thought, then looked back to Whitelightning.
"SILENCE!"
Unknown winced slightly. Had Thyme and Shrike merely fueled the flames? The yearling dearly hoped not. The two had spoken what was on her mind. Again, there was no need for words. The anger was clear on the youngster's face.
"YOU LIVE HERRE. YOU WILL ABIDE HERRE. If you betrray us, you have NOWHERE. Oceanmist, you are herre by demoted to the firrst Omega Grreaterr Norrth everr had in it's rranks. Just so yourr awarre, you were about to be grranted permission to accept wolves into the pack, but yourr place is the dirrt until you prrove otherrwise to me. When yourr pups are borrn, Thyme will assist with their raising. Then, the verry day they are weened frrom yourr milk, I will strrip them from you and tearr yourr title of 'motherr' from yourr head. They will be put with Hallow and the WHite Gaurrd.
Unknown glanced at Oceanmist. First omega of the pack, eh? Well, at least the pups would live with someone very reliable and cool. Hallow was someone the yearling had a ot of respect for. She knew the pups would be in good hands. The blue pup looked towards Shrike and Thyme, wanting to see their reaction to this whole thing. From the corner of her eye, Oceanmist passed, moving to the back of the crowd. Another member arrived, one from the hunt. She didn't remember the female's name, but had ran behind her when they had been hunting.
Unknown saw Shrike sit up. The yearling's gaze moved from Shrike, to Majority, who seemed to be happy with herself. Whatever. Thought the yearling with a slight roll of her light blue eyes.

"Oceanmist, afterr your pups arre weened, you will be grranted back to yourr orriginal rrank as a Daywalkerr. You've been a good frriend since my brrotherr and I firrst lead, so I hope you rrealize that I'm going easy on you. If you can prrove that you arre trruely sorry forr yourr errors, you'rr rrank will rraise back up, and you will perrmitted to grrant new wolves into ourr back like I had originally planned." He looked to Swig in slight annoyence. He was no murderer, and the Shrike verses Majority conflicts were getting on his nerves. He hoped to the Gods that they would work it out, or at least TRY, after today. "This brrings us to ourr other business." The wolf grinned now. "Yourr harrd worrk at the hunt allowed me to witness your strrengths, weaknesses, and motives. Even the newest of the new will be reconized today. It's time to rrecieve yourr rranks."
He scanned the crowd until his eyes laid upon Gunner and Spitz. They had been two of three wolves to help him first strike the Mammoth, and he remembered their courage and detication. They were good tactitions and he would not ignore them. "Gunnerr and Spitz. You two werre among thrree to strrike firrst with me. Yourr brraverry was amazing, and so, I give you the rranks of Hunterrs. Take not yourr new positions lightly, eitherr of you. In times of famine, starvation... you will be ourr savorrs. Sharpen yourr noses and rrememberr yourr trracking skills. Therre may be a time when the entirre pack puts theirr faith into you."
His eyes left them, and turned to the next group of wolves, including Herm, Aquamarine, Jaggedpaw and Frore. "You all, Herrm, Aquamarrine, and Jaggedpaw. You arre given the Honorr of Daywalkerr. Yourr jobs will be to scout ourr territorry durring the day. You will keep us safe, and brring new memberrs to ourr pack. Joining you, durring the day, will be Joi and Ayla. The rest of you, Rapture, Zero and Frore, you will take the rrank of Nightwalkerr. The moonlight will be your guide, and you will keep watch in the darrkerr hourrs of the night. As for Daarrk Fayte, ourr snow cat frriend, I would be grreatly honorred if you would set an example of stealth to ourr scouts. You too will be allowed to accept new memberrs, just be carreful not to scarre them away." The wolf smiled humorously, then watched Jaggedpaw. "Jaggedpaw, I know you have prroblems rrunning. So, I assign you a grroup. You, Herrm and Aquamarrine will scount togeatherr."
Pleased with himself, Whitelightning held up his head, adressing the last group. "And finally, I request Shrike, Sean, Swig, Unknown- yes, I'm calling you too, and Majority to step forrwards."

Sean looked up toward his Alpha as he began to call out names "Oceanmist, afterr your pups arre weened, you will be grranted back to yourr orriginal rrank as a Daywalkerr. You've been a good frriend since my brrotherr and I firrst lead, so I hope you rrealize that I'm going easy on you. A soft smile came over his face as he heard the words, Ocean would hopefully perk up on that note.
Therre may be a time when the entirre pack puts theirr faith into you." Sean's eyes fell upon the two he had shared a group with. He nodded toward them both in congradulations. He felt proud he wasn't the only hunter now. His nerves were on end as he waited his name to be called out, little did he know it would be quite a while. The rest of the ceremony seemed to fly by as he waited excitedly by Shrike's side, who would earn the other ranks? He almost coudn't wait to find out.
He shifted to a more comfortable possition as he watched expressions change and moods change from anger to joy and pride. You too will be allowed to accept new memberrs, just be carreful not to scarre them away." He nodded to the ones called out with respect, he felt pride for the ones who had earned their ranks today. He hoped they could feel it also, he felt his home would have a bright future. They were more then a pack, they were a team anda family to each other.
The cerimony seemed to be coming to an end and he still had yet to earn his rank, was it possiple he wasn't going to earn one since he was a hunter already? He looked down out of dissapoint of the thought [/i]"And finally, I request Shrike, Sean, Swig, Unknown- yes, I'm calling you too, and Majority to step forrwards."[/i] Sean's ears perked forward at his name, he was being called up? A smile covered his face as he stood waiting for Shrike to go first, he would follow behind her after she made her way forward. Curiousity welled inside of him, what was going to happen?

Hallow kept his sole attention on the rest of the pack. Watching solemnly as more and more members of the pack finally came to the meeting. He was very proud to know the members were born ready to assist their alpha’s call. Reigning up from a wake and getting their rumps in gear at any hour of the day. And he was also proud to know they could hunt without killing themselves, like he had almost done. Then he heard Swig’s voice and turned his attention to her. He had half-expected she was talking to him. But he was so caught up within studying the pack members, he had almost forgotten he had spoken to her.
As did you Hallow. For a moment I thought I would dragging you body to the side after that suicidal move. As experienced as you probably are, try not to be so rash. I've only met two wolves and I rather not have to find a replacement.
A light laugh escape the white arctic’s maw. He gave a light nod to her humor and adjusted himself. Clearing his throat as he winked at her.
“Ah my dear Swig, I promise not to keep you to worry for an old fool like me. But you must learn, I can win if I have faith in myself. But I’m gonna need a lot of faith from my packmates.”
He grinned as big as any wolf could ever grin. Pawing the earth slightly and licking his chops. Tensing slightly as he had almost forgotten the ache in his bones. He was trying to ponder if jumping from the mammoth to the snow was more dangerous then actually clinging to the mammoth. He was feeling as if he was still on the mammoth still. His mind and brain jogging up and down like rose petals. His bones clinging for dear life while his body swayed from side to side and to and fro. Such headaches.
“Naw I’m alright. Just abit achin in my bones and a few headaches every now and then. Just need a few more days of recovery and I’ll be as good as new.”
He assured her lightly and jerked his attention the alpha as he began to speak solemnly. His eyes coming from Oceanmist to Whitelightning. Getting abit dizzy before lowering his gaze now. Not out of disrespect, but merely because he could not focus to great. As he listened as carefully and closely as he could to Ocean and Whitelightning speak. He wasn’t to surprised about a pregnant female. But he then curled his lips into a snarl and bared his fangs. He wasn’t angry or anything, just a reflect. Hearing the cruel words of Majority knacked his nerves, but he remained silent.
When yourr pups are borrn, Thyme will assist with their raising. Then, the verry day they are weened frrom yourr milk, I will strrip them from you and tearr yourr title of 'motherr' from yourr head. They will be put with Hallow and the WHite Gaurrd.
At the mention of his name, Hallow shot his head up. Ears pricked to attention and he grew befuddled. How he was to take care of a bunch of pups and teach the way of becoming someone important to the pack’s army? He winced slightly in pain and irritation. He snorted and gather up his old stance and watched silently as Ocean took herself to the back of the pack. He took a step to talk to her a second.
“I am Hallow my dear Ocean. I promise the best for your children. You will be proud of them. I assure you this. I may not know what you have done completely or what has worked up in the muscles of these wolves. But I will never think of my pack mate as a traitor. Think of me as an old fool who still follows the old code. I am a friend that you can count on. If you ever need a simple ear or words of advice. Do not be afraid to come find me.”
He bowed and slowly moved from her path and slowly made his way towards Whitelightning to make his words more clearly. Though he may be speaking out of turn or out of service. This was his right to atleast have his share of an opinion. He halted at the front and looked directly at Whitelightning. With respect, he bowed lowly and cleared his throat.
“Alpha, if I may speak.”
He paused and turned his attention to the pack before looking back to Whitelightning.
“I am honored you have given me the right to teach the pups of Oceanmist. And I will make sure they will be raised properly as if I myself have fathered them. I will teach them the way of the arctic wolf through my way of learning. But I do not feel the pups should suffer for what their mother has done, if only an action such as that considered betrayal. But I want your permission to have full granting of teaching them the way I was taught. I will be their father.”
