Oceanmist gave a nod to Majority with fear in her eyes. She could tell just by the way her alpha sat next to her that he was mad. No, furious. She looked around at all of the other wolves. What would he think of her now? How would they react to what was about to be told to them. Her tail was now between her legs and she was crouching rather than sitting. She could only look up at Whitelightning as those terrible words escaped his lips. When he finished, she was stuck, looking up at him in silence. After a moment she turned to the crowd.
“What I’m going to tell you, you may not want to hear.” Her voice was weak; “most of you have already figured it out, I’m guessing, but I’m pregnant.” she turned to her alpha, wanting to tell her story to him. “I was banished by vile for the summer while I was in season. When I left, it was not to long before I met a wandering wolf.” This was when her voice became louder, “His name was Arey. Arey was a friend of mine from my former pack, and when I left to come to the greater north two years ago, he had been courting me. We talked for hours and hours, and he became my companion for a few days. Before I knew it, he had begun to court me again. And, well, I didn’t try and stop him. He is a nice guy, strong, smart, maybe a little short, but who cares? He was great father material.” She looked down in the snow with a long pause. She needed to tell this story, even if she didn’t want to. She would have just told it to Whitelightning, but now she had to tell it to her whole pack.
She looked back up at her pack now, instead of Whitelightning. “I had every intention of bringing Arey back here with me. But I didn’t want him to get hurt. I was sure that if he came back here, you would all shun him for what he had done to me. Or you would have hurt him. You all don’t understand though, he has given me the best gift I could have asked for, I’m having children, and its great.” She looked back up at Whitelightning, “you can call me whatever you want to, but I will still only call myself a mother.”

Herm dropped the cub, playfully whisked his tail across it's face, then trotted too, tail held gaily curled on his back, in typical malamute fashion. Looking back, he saw a familar shape walking.. Well, not exactly walking, but limping slightly as fast as he could towards him. Drawing his lips back in a wide grin, he waited for Jaggedpaw to draw even with him, then nosed his fine pelt in greeting. "I still feel your ribs," the white wolf joked, "Time to fatten you up and get hunting!"
When they'd reached where a few wolves had gathered around WhiteLightning, they had come just in time to hear their alpha's.. Hostile words against Oceanmist. Herm did not really know her that well, he had just seen her around sometimes. So what was going on?
"You've condemed yourr childrren. I do not see why I should not kill them now. You've thrrown them into a life built on yourr pathetic weakness."
"She has children? Unborn pups!" The white wolf with brown ears muttered to his friend. "Surely they should not suffer her mistake. Her getting pregnant is not the pup's fault, surely." He clamped his maw shut when the alpha spoke again.
"What, and who, will they have to grrow forr? Why should we accept them! If you want them, you save them now. TURRN ARROUND AND ADRRESSS YOUR COMRRADS. TELL THEM WHAT YOU'VE DONE. TELL THEM WHAT YOU ARE!"
Blue optics smouldering, Herm took one step forward, then stopped, remembering that speaking now would be a stupid thing to do. Maybe later, in private, with his alpha. If he got banished.. So be it.
"You don't think she'll actually say she's a whore, do you?" He asked Jaggedpaw. "It's so emmbarresing. And the unborn pups are not in fault." He repeated that over and over. Gnawing on his paw in hesitation, he spoke softly, "I can't stay here.. I have to speak out soon, before i explode so bad i make a fool of myself." ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Letting out a squeak of surprise and fright as someone scooped him up, Shu struggled. Then realized that he'd seen this wolf before. With the cripple. "I-ow-know you! -owowow!-" He peeped, as herm ran akwardly on.
Then, moments later, Herm dropped him and tickled the cub's face with his tail, then sauntered off. Well, at least he was considerably closer to the adult snow leopard. So he struggled on, and when was close enough, scrambled up Daark Fayte's massive paw, and sat.

Unknown could see Gunner arrive from the corner of her eye. She watched him sit, even turning her head slightly to see where he seated himself. He was across the area from her, though a bit closer to Whitelightning than Unknown was. The azure pup's eyes moved to Oceanmist and Whitelight, who spoke next.
The anger in Whitelightning's eyes was scary. Ears pressed back, the yearling actually recoiled, as if being stung. Those golden eyes... She recalled a time when she had seen such hatred shone in a pair of golden eyes. It had not been Whitelightning, though. It had been another wolf, a wolf that she never wanted to see again. Kyrosir had been his name. He had slain many of her family members mercilessly. It was a miracle Unknown had made it out of those caves alright. Kyrosir's gleaming golden eyes of his were burned in her memory. Unknown lowered herself as the angered co-alpha spoke. She knew that it was all Oceanmist's fault, but she still felt bad. Perhaps it she felt bad for Oceanmist? Well, whatever it was, she didn't like it.
"You've condemed yourr childrren. I do not see why I should not kill them now. You've thrrown them into a life built on yourr pathetic weakness." Unknown's ears pressed even harder against her head. Her light blue eyes gazed to where Oceanmist was. She looked so pathetic... So scared. Unknown felt bad, but hadn't the female brought this upon herself? "What, and who, will they have to grrow forr? Why should we accept them! If you want them, you save them now. TURRN ARROUND AND ADRRESSS YOUR COMRRADS. TELL THEM WHAT YOU'VE DONE. TELL THEM WHAT YOU ARE!"
Unknown watched as the female turned to the crowd. “What I’m going to tell you, you may not want to hear.” Her voice was so feeble, so weak. The yearling, however, had a rather good view of it all, seated near the front, where she could hear Oceanmist. "Most of you have already figured it out, I’m guessing, but I’m pregnant.” It was no surprise to the yearling. “I was banished by vile for the summer while I was in season. When I left, it was not to long before I met a wandering wolf. His name was Arey. He was great father material.”
The voice had grown louder. Unknown shifted her feet uneasily. What would Whitelightning do to Oceanmist? The yearling didn't want him to kill the pups, or to kill the disobedient female, though Oceanmist deserved it. However, her sympathy was slowly fading for the single mother. She should've known. Yes, she SHOULD'VE known better. Snorting, the pup shifted her weight, and listened. “I had every intention of bringing Arey back here with me. But I didn’t want him to get hurt. I was sure that if he came back here, you would all shun him for what he had done to me. Or you would have hurt him. You all don’t understand though, he has given me the best gift I could have asked for, I’m having children, and its great.”
Hmph. You shouldn't have said that. Was what the yearling thought. Whitelightning knew how to deal good punishments. What would the female be given? Would she be forbidden to see Arey ever again? Would she have to kill the pups herself? Unknown listened further. “you can call me whatever you want to, but I will still only call myself a mother.”
Naught but a slut. Concluded the blue pup, her light eyes narrowing in disgust. It's not the pup's fault, though. If Whitelightning tries to kill them... She frowned. Wait, am I seriously thinking about disobeying orders? True, I don't want the innocent pups to die... Wait... I don't even like pups... But... It's not their fault what their mother did. Unknown shook her head. She banished all thoughts of disobeying orders. She'd just see what would happen. Whitelightning was too soft to slay pups, she knew that. But why did she have this feeling that something bad was going to happen?

“BANISH THEM.”
Majority jumped to her feet, she looked over to WhiteLightning and Oceanmist. The sneer was back on her face, she was a deadly malicious thing. The hairs on her back were raised in distress, angry at what Ocean had said in her defence… her confession.
“Is this the example we want set for new pups now coming into the family? How will her pups be accepted?”
Majority shook her head in dismay. Perhaps she should show some compassion for the fool. Even if the male wolf was known to Ocean; there wasn’t any proof that this was true. Oceanmist could be lying for her own benefit. Majority refused to be manipulated by Ocean, but she did offer up an alternative.
“WhiteLightning, banish her to the outskirts of The Greater North. Where the sun doesn’t touch and the winter bares no remorse. If she and her pups survive through the winter, they should be allowed access, a trial. She is a member of this pack, but she has betrayed you and the lands by dishonouring herself.”
Majority turned away from the circle of wolves, her tail no longer wagging happily. She had her own views on what should be done with Oceanmist. Major shouldn’t have spoken out of turn, but that could hardly be helped now. Oceanmist had said it herself, I was sure that if he came back here, you would all shun him for what he had done to me. If ‘Arey’ had come back, there would be someone to blame, but now it was Ocean’s turn to take the blame. If she was a responsible ‘mother’ she would beg for forgiveness of the Greater North and of WhiteLightning.
Majority turned back to the crowd after cooling her thoughts. She lifted her skull to WhiteLightning and lowered it; she kept it lowered when she spoke next.
“I am sorry for speaking out of turn.” She lifted from her bow, reclined to her haunches and wrapped her tail around her back paws.
She had gotten her two cents in, for sure.

"I still feel your ribs. Time to fatten you up and get hunting!"
Jaggedpaw grinned weakly. In truth, he was still afraid that he may not be able to do it. Running, that was always the problem! And the cripple couldn't run! He just couldn't! So as glad as he was for Herm's help, he was also terribly fearful of the upcoming...lessons.
However, his fears were slowly pulled away as he noticed first Whitelightning's anger. He called a wolf named Oceanmist forward. She was obviously pregnant, but Jaggedpaw didn't really think much of this...not until Whitelightning growled,
"You've condemed yourr childrren. I do not see why I should not kill them now. You've thrrown them into a life built on yourr pathetic weakness." His eyes narrowed, like a snake or a demon or something from God's judgement.
Oh no...
“What I’m going to tell you, you may not want to hear.”
She was right about that. Jaggedpaw felt his ears flattening inch by inch, as Oceanmist told the story he'd seen coming...that everyone had seemed to see coming. One of his packmates had done this...and all this, after the hunt, where the alliance of the pack had been so great!
"She has children? Unborn pups! Surely they should not suffer her mistake. Her getting pregnant is not the pup's fault, surely."
Jaggedpaw nodded. "You're right. Oceanmist...maybe. But her pups shouldn't be branded with this..." He knew what it was like to be branded. It hurt most when it was something you couldn't control, or hadn't done.
Others seemed confused too. The cripple noticed a wolf he'd hunted with...Unknown, that was her name, shake her head. Maybe other pack members were feeling the same insecurity about the innocent pups' posssible fate. Jaggedpaw certainly was, and obviously Herm was as well.
"I can't stay here.. I have to speak out soon, before i explode so bad i make a fool of myself."
"Wait, Herm! If you're going to talk to Whitelightning...about the pups...I'll come with you and help. As best I can." He made a face. Cripple's word. Yeah, that did a whole lot of good.
"I-ow-know you! -owowow!-"
What? This little cub knew him? From where? Jaggedpaw blinked, and then it hit him. Duh. The cub must have seen him during the hunt, that was all. Trust him to overexagerate a single sighting. He wasn't really hard to forget...not with his massive daggers.
“BANISH THEM.”
What? Banish them all? But the pups...it wasn't their fault! They didn't deserve to be deprived of growing up as best as was possible, all because of a foolish choice their mother had made! Jaggedpaw felt his hackles rising, and almost leapt up to challange Majority's statement. Just in time, however, he recalled his place, compared to Majorty's. No...he and Herm could go afterwards. Hopefully by then it wouldn't be too late...

Thyme watched on along with everyone else, blending in as best she could with the bodies of the other wolves. Her darker-colored ears had perked forward in a vain attempt to better grasp the situation though her kiwi-green eyes were glazed over in thought; she was listening with her eyes. Her long tail whisked gently over the snow, feeling a sympathy of sorts for Oceanmist who was probably embaressed enough as it was. To get up here and say something like that to the pack, even if it was forced took courage.
Thyme couldn't pass judgement on a wolfess that easily, reguardless of what indications that there were. Intent on the situation she turned her head towards Majority, her new found acquantence in the hunt. Thyme watched her, gathering as much if not more from her world of almost complete silence. The look on her face was a calm one, aloof, even. Her ears notched back slightly soon after Majority had given her two-cents on the matter. She looked up towards Whitelightening, and Oceanmist.
Having been quite literally lying low earlier she eased up onto all fours, stepping quietly forward. She lifted her head to look up toward's Whitelightening. She could understand his anger, what she had done was not commendable, it was not even really all that acceptable. Yes, it was a mistake- and a bad one, but that didn't change the worth of unborn lives. In her previous pack, some of the most important were the ones who had been concieved through error. There was no reason to deny them a chance.
"I concurr that she has made an error." She spoke softly, little above a whisper though her presence may have drawn more attention to her. She did not have to speak loudly to make a point. If the unborn were going to pay the price, she could take it as well. She paused, fitting together words, trying to make her wording frank. "This error is not acceptable, nor to be commended... However, these are lives we speak of."
"This mistake does not change that they are precious lives, as worthy to be here as you or I." She'd spoken alot, and connecting the words was no easy feat. "I wish for them to be healthy, to have one of those precious lives. I will aide in raising them, I want to." She ceased to speak there, her aloofness staying present until a warm smile touched her face. She trusted him.

The tension in the air was building. Shrike hadn't physically noticed it at first, but the feeling soon crept into her consciousness and weighed heavily on her thoughts. It built until layers of it cloyed the air, dampening her mood. No, the small argument during the hunt was nigh forgotten, might even be completely disregarded. It had been resolved to be sure, but her worry about retaliation for it anyway was rapidly fading. The problem was, she couldn't figure out why this mood was savaging what had started out as a good day. Rolling her shoulders a few times anxiously, she peered around at the gathered wolves with a slightly drawn expression.
Her gaze only briefly rested on the pregnant wolf, sitting close by. There was nothing wrong with being with cubs; or was there? She hadn't been in the pack long enough to investigate the rules on children, but from what she had gathered and experienced herself, wolf cubs would be a welcome addition to the community, new lives that should be celebrated.
But when her eyes flicked over the white wolfess again, she noticed the wolves around her becoming more uneasy by the moment. Something was wrong with the wolfess, and this puzzled her. Nonetheless, it wasn't long before Shrike found out just why. She barely listened to some menial announcements about new families, filing them away for contemplation later if they were anything to be held in regard. Whitelightning's voice almost made her jump, but her self control was admirable and her ears simply pricked in his direction, while she sat a little straighter and her senses shot into a state of higher awareness.
“Then again. There are some otherr announcements to make rregaurding new families. Isn't that right, my old friend? Oceanmist, come forrward.”
“What, and who, will they have to grrow forr? Why should we accept them! If you want them, you save them now. TURRN ARROUND AND ADRRESSS YOUR COMRRADS. TELL THEM WHAT YOU'VE DONE. TELL THEM WHAT YOU ARE!”
Shocked, Shrike just stared at them both after Oceanmist had went forward as asked. She stayed silent, sorting out everything that was happening just as fast as she could. Moments later, Oceanmist began trying to explain herself. At first, when Shrike realized what the white wolfess had done, she was furious. She didn't much care that Oceanmist had laid down for a male outside the pack, though this was a serious offense, but that the wolf cubs that kicked in her womb now would have to face a life without a father, without respect, without pride for themselves.
These facts are what really horrified her. As a wolfess with a shaky and painful past, she could say for sure that such a difficult life from birth would tear heavily at the young cubs' minds. She looked sadly at Oceanmist now, a small tendril of sorrow wrapping itself around her heart. Oh, she knew the what kind of life a wolf lived, if they entered the world already opposed, already looked down upon. In all likelihood, she knew better than anyone here.
“BANISH THEM.”
For the second time in a short while, she was stunned. Turning her head slowly towards Majority, her eyes widened with the second shock. The surprise at the vehemence in the other wolfess's voice, the malevolence, the sneer that was on her face and in her words. In silence, Shrike listened to Majority's words. Slowly, Shrike rose to her feet.
Walking forward solemnly, she stopped in front of the blue wolfess. She didn’t hear Thyme speak, didn’t hear any mutterings the other wolves uttered. There was something wrong with her posture, wrong with her expression, wrong with her eyes. Majority’s words had sliced into her deeply, and she wouldn’t lie down and let it bleed. She stared unerringly into the other wolf’s eyes, fury and sadness mixing together in a delicate blend. After a moment of silence, her voice broke the silence like fracturing glass.
“No.”
The word was simply, short and effective, the graveness in her voice was fit for a funeral. It was said quietly, far too quietly to be taken anything but seriously. Shrike had lived both a wonderful and terrible childhood, and while her family had made her happy, she wouldn’t wish the bad on anyone, let alone unborn cubs.
“You -- you should be ashamed of yourself. Banishing cubs to the cruelest corner of the North; unborn children! They have done no wrong, harmed no one. Unwanted and rejected before they’ve drawn their first breath. They don’t deserve that, no one deserves that.” Here her voice almost shattered, but she seemed to gather herself and continue. “Those cubs deserve the undying love that only a family can give, no matter how or why they were conceived. It does not matter if that love comes from their actual mother and father, or from this pack. Refusing the cubs this most simple and important gift is one of the dirtiest, most repulsive and vile things a wolf can dream of for them, a punishment they did not earn! They will not be banished. I will not allow it.”
Even as she said this, she was thinking of her old home. Her shattered home, her shattered family. The only thing that had saved her from throwing herself into an early death had been her family, and she would’ve done anything for them. When the family pack had fallen apart, when she had left the packlands with her hollow heart, only the unity and spirit of this pack had rescued her from the depths of her depression, bringing her back from a life where her body had lived on but her mind was as good as dead.
As she said the last few words, she turned from Majority and faced Whitelightning. Without a word, she looked him in the eye. She knew he wouldn’t allow banishment, wouldn’t abide it, no matter how furious he was. If the world should turn upside-down and a gentle soul like he should do something to harm the cubs be it physically or mentally, or both, he would have to go through her to do it. Undoubtedly she would lose that struggle, but she didn’t expect to have to.
He was a good alpha, a good friend, brother and wolf. After her short speech, she found her spot again and sat down, gazing away at nothing, thinking of Oceanmist’s pups. Eventually, she carefully folded her legs under her, lying her head gently on her paws, which were tucked together and in front of her. Wrapping her tail around her side, she waited calmly and patiently for the conversation, condemning or other happenings to continue, as if nothing had happened at all. Shrike was a strange wolf, often a moody or emotional one, but with a good heart. A trusting heart. She put one last look Whitelightning's way, betraying her trust in him that he would do nothing to harm the cubs; and that when it came to chosing who to gather around him, he would chose wisely.

ooc: I'll post now.
Whitelightning was furious. Furious that she had betrayed him. Furious that she had betrayed her children. But most of all, he was furious she couldn't trust her own pack. Would it have been too much of an issue to drag this so called male back to Greater North BEFORE she decided to make herself a dinner plate. He would have accepted and gave a blessing.
But no.
It was her impatience, her imcompience, he could not understand. Why did she not do things the right way? Why did she need to bring this pointless drama ontop of everyones head? Already, the different veiws of the pack members were flaring, and it caused no less stress on him. The lip coiled back in a silent snarl as he barked: "SILENCE!"
A loud, booming sound that might have been a gunshot exploded from his throat. The bickering ended here.
He was greatful for Thyme's proposal, giving a sigh that shrugged his shoulders. "Yourr kindness is grreatly apperrciated, I'm surre, though highly undeserrved." He shot Oceanmist an angry glare before turning back to his friend. "Good soul. If you want to assist, I allow it." He almost smiled, then he turned to the white she-wolf, frowning, but not with his earlier fury.
"Oceanmist, if you were not an older and more trrusted member of this pack, I would keep you until the birrth and then thrrown you out during winterr." His cold expression showed he was not bluffing. "Howeverr. Since that is not the case, you will rremain here." He snorted through his nose. "I don't carre about yourr old pack. I do not carre if this wolf was engaged to you since your eyes firrst opened. You arre not of that old pack and you will damn rremember that! YOU LIVE HERRE. YOU WILL ABIDE HERRE. If you betrray us, you have NOWHERE. Oceanmist, you are herre by demoted to the firrst Omega Grreaterr Norrth everr had in it's rranks. Just so yourr awarre, you were about to be grranted permission to accept wolves into the pack, but yourr place is the dirrt until you prrove otherrwise to me. When yourr pups are borrn, Thyme will assist with their raising. Then, the verry day they are weened frrom yourr milk, I will strrip them from you and tearr yourr title of 'motherr' from yourr head. They will be put with Hallow and the WHite Gaurrd. They will make up for yourr trreacherry, and they will have no one but you to blaim. Returrn to yourr place." He paused. "At the back of the pack."
A mother thought of her children. A mother did not allow selfish actions. The way these children were brought into the world was selfish, not caring. And so, Whitelightning limited the time she would have them with her, so that she would realise the change in their lives Oceanmist caused even before they were concieved.

The Alpha began speaking, talking of new families, new allies.
We all know how well we did in the hunt, but I don't think anyone dislikes praise. You've rreached beyond my expectations, and we even gatherred a few morre members and allies as well. Frrom now on, our Snow cat friends will be allowed to remain within camp. They've prroved theirr motives arre trrue, and we have no rreason to rreject them. So welcome to the wolves, snow cats. Frore turned his head, nodding towards any snow cats in the vicinity. They were commanded to welcome the felines, thus he would, acting as if they were his own pack mates.
As we'rre alrready awarre, there have been some birrths in the last few months. Tala and Xi arre now parrents to six new childrren. As a family, all of us, we must pledge to do our best to assist those childrren in grrowing up herre, in our hostal parradise. If any of you would go congrradulate them and meet our new family additions, it would be best. A wolfish smile spread across Frore's muzzle- Pups were always to be cherished, welcomed warmly. He would make sure to find where they lived currently and welcome the new souls to The Greater North.
Then again. There are some otherr anouncements to make rregaurding new families. Isn't that right, my old friend? Oceanmist, come forrward.
After these words, he looked around, then watched a heavy female step forward to stand beside their Alpha. She was obviously pregnant, but his voice had changed, not as happy and welcoming as before when he had spoken of the other six pups. What was going on here? His happy, gleefull face changed to one of slight concern.
You've condemed yourr childrren. I do not see why I should not kill them now. You've thrrown them into a life built on yourr pathetic weakness. What, and who, will they have to grrow forr? Why should we accept them! If you want them, you save them now. TURRN ARROUND AND ADRRESSS YOUR COMRRADS. TELL THEM WHAT YOU'VE DONE. TELL THEM WHAT YOU ARE!
How had the she-wolf done this? Had she mated outside the pack? That seemed to be the only explanation. A troubled, confused expression took over his face, coupling with the concerned one.
What I’m going to tell you, you may not want to hear. Most of you have already figured it out, I’m guessing, but I’m pregnant. I was banished by Vile for the summer while I was in season. When I left, it was not to long before I met a wandering wolf. His name was Arey. He was great father material. I had every intention of bringing Arey back here with me. But I didn’t want him to get hurt. I was sure that if he came back here, you would all shun him for what he had done to me. Or you would have hurt him. You all don’t understand though, he has given me the best gift I could have asked for, I’m having children, and its great.
Frore paused, considering her words. So she had indeed mated outside of the pack, and this seemed to have upset the Alpha. Well, maybe it was against the rules, but what would he do to a female who had pups to raise? Surely he'd leave her be until she had weaned them? Murmmurings began, then outburts.
BANISH THEM. Is this the example we want set for new pups now coming into the family? How will her pups be accepted? WhiteLightning, banish her to the outskirts of The Greater North. Where the sun doesn’t touch and the winter bares no remorse. If she and her pups survive through the winter, they should be allowed access, a trial. She is a member of this pack, but she has betrayed you and the lands by dishonouring herself.
Unable to help himself, Frore rose up on all fours immediately, whirling and snarling at the wolf. He was about to speak, but next came another wolf, so he waited, turning and sitting back down, though his teeth were bared, tail whiplashing.
I concurr that she has made an error. This error is not acceptable, nor to be commended... However, these are lives we speak of. This mistake does not change that they are precious lives, as worthy to be here as you or I. I wish for them to be healthy, to have one of those precious lives. I will aide in raising them, I want to.
Indeed! He thought, glancing at the wolf which had spoken so softly. If the she-wolf had to be punished, the pups should be spared for sure! It was not their fault! Before he could say so, however, the next wolf spoke- His companion.
No. You -- you should be ashamed of yourself. Banishing cubs to the cruelest corner of the North; unborn children! They have done no wrong, harmed no one. Unwanted and rejected before they’ve drawn their first breath. They don’t deserve that, no one deserves that. Those cubs deserve the undying love that only a family can give, no matter how or why they were conceived. It does not matter if that love comes from their actual mother and father, or from this pack. Refusing the cubs this most simple and important gift is one of the dirtiest, most repulsive and vile things a wolf can dream of for them, a punishment they did not earn! They will not be banished. I will not allow it.
Frore rose and turned to face the wolf alongside his companion. Dare the wolf, which had said to banish innocent pups, try anything to harm his companion, she would find herself against two wolves, not one. But when Shrike turned, he turned also, still standing, though he glanced at Majority from time to time, making sure she tried nothing.

Holy shit. She couldn’t believe the words that had come out of Majority’s mouth. Had she not just wished her luck? She gave out a low growl, though she held her tongue. She heard whispers throughout the crowd, before she heard another voice. It was a wolf sticking up for her. Well, sort of. She was amazed that Thyme had offered to help her. She looked at her with thankful eyes, before hearing more bickering. This time it was shrike, and she again was one to defend ocean. She was overwhelmed by her words. Oceanmist couldn’t believe that anybody would want to stick up for her, not now.
Then the loud yell of Whitelightning came. He turned to her, "Oceanmist, if you were not an older and more trrusted member of this pack, I would keep you until the birrth and then thrrown you out during winterr." Howeverr. Since that is not the case, you will rremain here." I don't carre about yourr old pack. Returrn to yourr place. At the back of the pack."
She could only look at him. She wanted to tell him just what she thought right then. She had not betrayed the pack. She had come back. Hadn’t she? She could have stayed with her former mate, but she decided to come back to the place she was loyal. At the moment he was done talking, all of the expression in her face had vanished. Her bright aqua eyes were hallowed, her fur had loosened on her pelt, and now hung low instead of with the life it had. In that very moment, she changed. “as you wish, my lord.” Her voice was quiet and bare. There was no trace of personality in it. She simply lifted herself up and walked. She passed many wolves, many faces. She knew they were looking at her but she didn’t care. She finally reached the back, and sat. Looking down at her belly, she only hoped now that her pups would be accepted. She could only be grateful that they would be in the White Guard. It was a place of honor, something she no longer was allowed to show, and wasn’t sure if she had any more.
