The hot orb of light sank slowly below the Mountains painted the distinct color of red. Eyes flashed opened and a head moved somewhere in the distance. Sore and weak from blood-loss the lupine like figure was almost dead. It had been attacked and refused to fight back. All the figure knew was that if he did not get to a healer he was going to die.
Soull lifted his head and sighed. A she-wolf who had known his mother had attacked him and attempted to kill him. Soull was stunned and recognized her. She had been a friend of his after Shorwin left. Nothing had changed about the fae, she was as beautiful as ever. Soull had lost his virginity to her. She had forced him to breed with her. She had been in heat and wanted pups as beautiful as her friend. Seeing, the young pup she had clamped her teeth on his neck threating him as she mated with his young body. Soull felt something as he thought of the experience.
Soull knew it was the pain of that thought. It had never been easy for him to get over. Soull was in danger. If Shorwin did not come soon Soull would be forced to get up. His already weak body groaned as he laid there. He flet as if he needed to find his brother. Soull would be willing to stay alive just a little while longer. His fur and the gorund was soaked with blood. Soull whined and shook his head weakly. His vision was blurring. "BROTHER!" He screamed. The fae might try ot kill Shorwin too.
Even in his weak state, his will and determination were stronger. "Please hear this" he said as he tossed his head and howled a long an sorrowful howl that reflected his near death condition
As he howled Soull went limp and rolled on to his side with the little energy left he had. She tried to kill him, but if it had not been for her slipping down the shallow cliff, he probbaly would dead. Soull thought of his life. What he saw upsetted him. Soull saw himslef as others do. An arrogant and rude brat pup. Soull thought about death if he deied, who would hewlp his Shorwin? No one he reminded himself. Though, he would never tell Shorwin this, Soull believed his brother was his reason for existance. The reason why he needed to live. If he could manage to hang on just a few hours more,he could tell his brother good-bye. Soull felt as though he needed his brother.
If his brother was beside him Soull would stay alive. He would be there for him.
